Endings: How to Win & Every Way to Lose

Updated · Progress

Quick answer

There are two wins: pay the Landlord the deed price in cash on a rent day, or make the Loan Shark's final mortgage payment. Both end with a stats screen and a Continue button. allthings.how counts 15 losing endings: missed rent, repossession, arrest, execution, −100 reputation with Security, Lower Levels, Upper Levels, Revolution or the Cartel (Framed, Lynched, Assassinated, Bombed, Retired), Lou's two bombs, No Permit, and three tied to specific perks. The developers plan to change the main ending in a future update.

Pay off the mortgage Make the Loan Shark’s last weekly payment

Every way to lose

Ending Cause
You Defaulted On Your Rent Can’t or won’t pay rent with no grace left

Arrested Security case of 300–1,499, or an unpaid fine
Executed Security case of 1,500 or more
Framed Security reputation −100
Lynched Lower Levels reputation −100
Assassinated Upper Levels reputation −100
Bombed Revolution reputation −100
Retired Sector 13 Cartel reputation −100, or crossing the Cartel
Bombed (toy box) Lou’s toy box moved, emptied or trashed — see Lou
Bombed (debt) Lou’s 1,500 demand not met
No Permit No Business Permit when enforcement starts (Day 45)
Sentinel Collapse Skipping Immunivax — only with the Sentinel Collapse Disorder perk
Augmented Aug presence reaches 100% — only with the Aug Menace perk
Meltdown Neglecting the reactor — only with the Makeshift Reactor

⚠️ The list and thresholds come from allthings.how; the rent default and Lou’s toy box are confirmed by players on Steam. The Black Market has no −100 ending. Reputation is explained on the factions page.

Endless Mode skips some scripted events and visitors, so not every ending can happen there.

The perk endings

The developers’ own advice before launch: “do not play with Sentinel Collapse Disorder on your first run.” It’s a starting perk that forces you to keep taking Immunivax — miss it and the run ends. Aug Menace and the Makeshift Reactor work the same way: extra points or power now, a new way to lose later. See perks.

FAQ

How many endings does Probably Stolen have?

The developers haven't published a count. allthings.how lists 17 (2 wins, 15 losses) as of Oct 29; an earlier article of theirs said 14. The developers have also said a main-storyline expansion will change how your story ends.

What happens after you buy the store?

You get the end screen with your stats — most profitable sale, days survived, total worth, perks. Then you can press Continue and keep running the shop with no rent. More content opens up after the buyout.

Does finishing Eleanor's or Lou's story end the game?

No. Character storylines don't end your run — though Lou can, if you mishandle her toy box or her 1,500 demand.

How do I avoid getting arrested or executed?

Security builds a case from your contraband sales. Under 300 you get a fine, 300–1,499 means arrest, 1,500+ means execution (allthings.how). Sell contraband through factions that hide it (Cartel deals add nothing), keep stock as liquid extract, hide items in a Smuggler Bay before inspections, and pay fines.
